At VAPF our construction projects have built-in efficiency. We are aware of the need for new buildings that are environmentally friendly and that are equipped with systems designed for long term sustainability.

Therefore, when fitting out our apartments and villas, our aim is to save energy by using materials and systems that not only do just this, but they will also help to make savings on electricity bills. As a result of these efforts, our developments have been granted type A energy qualification, which is currently the top certification awarded.

Although on the Costa Blanca Norte we enjoy exceptional temperatures all year round, now that winter is on the way, that extra little bit of heating would not go amiss to make your home even more comfortable and easy to run. Conventional heating and radiant floor heating, with the latter an extremely efficient option, are the most popular solutions chosen by homeowners, but what do you know about aerothermics? In this blog post we tell you all about it and the benefits. First of all, we can say that at the present time, it is the most environmentally friendly solution for the planet and it makes for bigger savings in your electricity bill.

What exactly is it?

Aerothermics is an energy source that takes advantage of the energy stored in the form of heat in the air that surrounds us, and this is harnessed to heat our homes, and to provide hot water and cooling systems.    How is this done? With the aid of heat pumps that extract 80% of energy from the air to generate heat or cool air, making it one of the most efficient technologies available for air conditioning.

How does it work?

As we have mentioned, aerothermics operates with thermal pumps that extract existing energy from the air that surrounds us. That is, put simply, the pumps capture energy from the available (and inexhaustible) air supply in the natural environment (which makes it a renewable system), and they use it to regulate room temperatures.

How does this process work? Aerothermics operates on one of the basic principles of thermodynamics: transporting heat from the air (thermal energy) in one atmosphere to another. Through the heat pump, existing thermal energy is recovered from the air and passes through a cooling circuit which produces an exchange of temperatures.

This coolant releases its temperature to the air or to a hot water circuit by circulating through an exchanger. This exchanger then transmits the energy generated to the heating and hot water system in your home.

Is it really efficient?

Definitely. And here’s the data to prove it:

  • Aerothermics is able to obtain up to 80% of energy from the air (a renewable and free energy source).
  • Just 1kW of electricity is required to produce from 3 to 5kW of heat.
  • It does not generate waste, and nor does it use fossil fuels.
  • It can be used in both summer and winter.
  • Compatible with other renewable energies.
  • Energy savings compared to conventional systems could be as much as 50%.
  • Easy installation and simple maintenance.
  • Highly cost effective

In short, for your economy, safety and comfort, it is the best alternative for replacing the traditional boiler (coal gas or diesel) condensation boilers and electric resistance heating systems.

Aerothermics in VAPF projects

As always, we do our best to ensure that your life on the Costa Blanca Norte is a comfortable experience. The latest generation aerothermal system ECODAN Hybrid is used in VAPF’s most recent villa and apartment projects. This is based on just one external unit, which will supply all your heating, air conditioning and hot water needs all year round, and what makes it special is the fact that it employs heat recovery, producing hot water simultaneously with the use of air conditioning. Don’t hesitate to contact us for further information on aerothermics and all the other features and services that we provide, and discover all our developments in different parts of the Costa Blanca Norte.
